My Experience
I provide friendly computer repair and consulting at your home or business.
As much as is possible, I do not let the computer win. Over the decades, I have learned what is necessary to repair computers (and what is not). I learn from many sources on the internet and temper it with my own extensive experience.
My History
I have ten years experience working at Digital Equipment Corporation in board repair and as a Document Control Coordinator. I have worked on personal computers since 1987 as a hobby. I have ten years of customer service experience at Diamond Park 'N Jet.
I have been in business professionally since January 1, 2012.
Services Provided
Normal Rates: I charge $80 an hour; I'm still cheaper than most places in town. I will charge mileage at 50 cents/per mile if outside my normal service area.
I am always affordable; I will negotiate on price. I'd rather fix your system than not.
My normal service area is the West Plains region (bounded by Cheney (as far as Williams Lake), Airway Heights, Medical Lake, Tyler), Spokane City and Spokane Valley.
Software: Windows and macOS operating system repair, recovery and reinstall. Malware removal and cleanup. Tuneups. Application install and repair.
Backups: The increasing prevalence of ransomware that encrypts your precious photos and documents (to the tune of $300 to $950 with no guarantee of recovery) is the main reason you need a disconnected backup of your entire computer: a disk image. I can show you how and I can provide a portable hard drive for sale if needed.
Pre-sales consulting is available. I will guide you on how not to overbuy nor underbuy your next computer based on your needs and budget. There are computers that are too slow to use straight from the factory; and there's no sense paying for more computer than you need.
Training available on request.
Hardware: Full desktop and laptop repair services available. Laptop screen replacement a specialty. Printer installs.
Hardware I DO NOT work on: Tablets, Phones and Mac
Note: Hard drive crashes are usually non-repairable, unless I have the authorization to sub-contract with a data recovery specialist, which are not cheap.
Policy as of 2024-06-14: Any computer that is left at my shop for longer than 30 days after refusal to repair or longer than 30 days after last communication becomes the property of Taylor Computing.

I offer monthly Retainer Subscriptions with the Subscribe link below. A Retainer Subscription is for clients who need my services frequently; you get priority service and you only have to pay me once a month. Retainers are $60.
